BEST PRINCIPAL, SCHOOL HEAD AND TEACHERS COMPETITION

BEST PRINCIPALS, SCHOOL HEADS AND TEACHERS OF THE YEAR AWARD
The Best Principals and School Heads of the Year award is expected to be organized in the 36 states of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The programme is design to encourage effective reading and research among Principals of Secondary schools and the Head Teachers and teachers of both Primary and Nursery schools. Though this programme commenced fully by 2020, it was test-run among schools in Nasarawa States and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja where numerous heads of schools, teachers and principals participated. Their reading ability and passion were tested and examined and the best participants were given cash prizes and books for their schools’ libraries.
(2019 NASARAWA STATE/ABUJA EDITION)
The 2019 event took place in Nigeria in August where a total of 1, 499 principals, heads of schools and Teachers from the Federal Capital Territory Abuja and Nasarawa State both participated in a keenly contested effective reading competition. The event had three stages of screening before the five best teachers finally emerged. The participants went through series of educational drillings, paper presentations and answered questions that only avid readers could answer.
The best five participants were picked at the end of the rigorous exercise for the award. Standtall Africa Initiative empowered them financially and donated enormous textbooks to their school libraries. They automatically become the pioneer ambassadors of the effective reading campaign for both Secondary and Primary Schools across the 36 states of Nigeria.
January 2020 edition of the program took place in both Nasarawa state and Abuja where a total of 2000 principals, heads of schools and teachers participated in a keenly contested effective reading competition.
